Project Napoli Service · Naples
A shared van picks you up in central Naples, drops you near the Pompeii entrance after about 40 minutes and collects you again later in the day. You get up to seven hours to walk the ruins at your own pace, without a guide and without the train.

This is the do-it-yourself option. The shuttle picks you up anywhere in central Naples (tell the operator your address when booking), and the ride takes about 40 minutes. On arrival the driver shows you where to meet for the return. Then you're on your own for up to seven hours: theatres, houses, wall paintings, the brothel, at whatever pace you like.
The Pompeii ticket is not included. A Pompeii Express ticket costs EUR 20 in 2026 and under-18s enter free; buy it online in advance on Pompeii's ticket page, in the holder's name. There's no guide either, so study the park's official map before you go.
Guests mostly praise the punctuality and the WhatsApp contact the day before. The complaints: one return 30 minutes late, one van without air-conditioning, and a driver who wasn't sure of the way back. The vehicle can be a small van shared with other passengers; the maximum is 13.

★★★★★Reliable transfer. Contacted me prior to day of transfer with details of pick up point. Arrived on time. Friendly driver. Were there to pick us back up for return journey on time.
★★★★★Giovanni was our driver and he was punctual, interesting, and charming. He took us to the gate where we were meeting our guide but made sure we knew where to meet the shuttle for our return.
★★★★★Conveniently picked up from our hotel and dropped off at our next activity. The price and convenience was better than a taxi, uber, or train.
★★★★★We were contacted over WhatsApp and reconfirmed the time and place of pickup. The driver dropped us at the Pompeii gates, giving us clear instructions on how to get in. He was back right on time for the return.
